OUR FABRICS
The fabric is of fundamental importance when manufacturing a down/feather cover because, depending on its composition and quality, the special characteristic of the down (transmission of water vapour) is favoured or impaired. The feather-proof fabric is of pure long-fibre Makò cotton, and its dense weave prevents the down from escaping without compromising its high transpiration power. Currently, the use of silicone or microfibre lining is popular due to the low cost, but this also has the disadvantage of the so-called "cellophane" effect. Plumage has selected 6 Inlett fabrics of different weights, from the most qualified and certified German-made 100% Makò cotton feather-proof fabrics, for covering its best down products. In addition, to add maximum value to its range, Plumage offers two new natural fibre high-tech fabrics:
HIGH-TECH FABRICS
Active Cotton fabric
The Active Cotton fabric ensures the least possible heat loss, resulting in a drier and more pleasant temperature.
Biovital fabric
The new and exclusive Biovital fabric. Aloe vera concentrate as a perfect antimicrobial, vitamin E for an antioxidant effect and jojoba oil for an all-natural moisturising effect.
FABRIC PROCESSING
Quilted duvet - kassetten chequered quilting
This duvet features the unique Kassetten system. The ribbons applied along the quilting stitches have the great advantage of preventing the feathers from migrating into the duvet by keeping them within the perimeter of the quilting stitches. Furthermore, this system avoids heat loss at the quilting stitches by allowing the feathers to be evenly distributed over the entire surface.
Each ribbon is 2 cm high and this thickness keeps the upper fabric separated from the lower one. The feather is blown through steel tubes. All squares are filled with an equal amount of feather weighed by an electronic scale. Once the filling is complete, the openings in the fabric are sewn to prevent migration of the down from one square to another.
Square duvet 25x25
The product is not only aesthetically 'beautiful' to look at (as the squares are small and puffy due to the stitching that joins the bottom of the fabric with the top), it is also technically advanced.
The PLUMAGE filling process uses previously manufactured linings with reinforcing and separating ribbons.
Four-season duvet
It is the duvet suitable for all seasons. It is composed of:
- SUMMER DUVET: contains 1/3 of the total filling. This is why it was created with a quilting system of very small squares in order to obtain a perfectly even distribution of the duvet.
- MID-SEASON DUVET: its filling, consisting of 2/3 of the total filling, is the ideal weight for cool spring and autumn nights.
- WINTER DUVET: the combination of these two duvets, by means of special buttons around the edges, results in the ideal duvet for cold winter nights.
Babyplum duvet
Children in particular should sleep as naturally as possible! So here are the Plumage duvets and pillows designed especially for them. A safe and fair choice for all ages. Babyplum comes with the duvet cover set: the cover plus the double-sided pillowcase in 100% pure cotton. Hypoallergenic and anti-suffocation duvet.
